Meet Arvind Surya: High School Math & Science Tutor.
As a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, I am currently applying to medical school and recently achieved a score in the 96th percentile on the MCAT. Since 2018, I have been dedicated to tutoring students in math, science, and test preparation, helping them achieve significant improvements in their scores. At UT Austin, I joined the Sanger Learning Center, where I tutored college students in advanced biology, chemistry, mathematics, and MCAT preparation while also working with my private clients. Through these experiences, I have developed a talent for simplifying complex concepts for diverse age groups and skill levels, ensuring each student gains a solid understanding.
Spending my early life in India and Malaysia and moving across various countries at a young age, I was immersed in a multitude of cultures and perspectives, which fueled my natural curiosity and passion for understanding the world. This drive eventually led me to roles in education and mentorship. I believe curiosity is the key to unlocking true learning, and I am committed to helping students discover their own “why” when it comes to their studies.
As a tutor, I create an environment that nurtures curiosity, encourages asking insightful questions, and empowers students to find solutions independently. My goal is to guide students toward independent thinking, ensuring that the lessons learned in our sessions extend far beyond the classroom. I strive to make students feel comfortable and supported as they explore complex ideas, building the confidence they need to apply this mindset to all areas of their lives. Together, we work not only toward mastering academic subjects but also toward mastering the art of learning itself.
