Meet Eunice Kang: SAT & ACT Tutor.

Going into education has been my way of paying my experiences forward. Growing up as a quiet observer in diverse communities, I quickly learned to understand people’s behaviors and needs. This early ability to empathize grew into a passion for sharing stories that resonate with others, eventually shaping my career path in user research and screenwriting. Reflecting on the most meaningful supporters of my journey, I always come back to my experiences working with students. From peer tutoring in high school, where I mainly supported English language learners, to guiding K-12 students as a research assistant in college, exploring sustainability through emerging technologies, and even helping my younger sisters prepare for their own exams—I’ve always valued creating a supportive environment.

As a Northern Virginia native, I’m excited to be back in the area to work with students as I embark on my next chapter as a master’s student at Johns Hopkins (DC campus). I believe that every student’s starting point is unique, and meeting them where they are is essential. I was fortunate to have mentors who met me where I was, and I strive to do the same for my students, helping them build the confidence to tackle problems that once seemed daunting. I also understand how much anxiety can come with test-taking—I’ve been there too. I remind my students (and myself!) that if you’ve put in the effort, you’re capable of doing hard things, which applies to the SAT/ACT but also to challenges beyond high school!
