Meet Jordan Landsman: Middle & High School Math Tutor.
As a middle and high school student, it took me a while to realize my academic potential. As a girl in STEM classes, I thought I was less capable and intelligent than my peers. With encouraging teachers and a supportive environment, I gained the confidence and finally believed in myself, helping me achieve more than I ever thought I could academically and personally. I want to help other students ignite their passion for learning by building their self-efficacy and knowledge.
I have been a volunteer tutor and peer mentor through high school and college. Helping students has sparked my interest in pursuing my graduate education in counseling. When I tutor a student, I ensure they know they deserve to be listened to and respected. I try to build individualized approaches and allow students to have agency in their learning. I also love incorporating interactive and virtual activities to make learning exciting and fun. By remaining curious and open, I inspire students to learn fearlessly and ask for what they need.
