Paula Shaibani

I am a gymnastics and trampoline coach and a national-level trampolinist, as well as a National Merit Scholar. I began tutoring in 2008 through an honors society during college and then transitioned into full-time coaching after graduation. When schools shifted to virtual instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic, I saw firsthand how many of the athletes I coached struggled to recover academically during the transition back to in-person learning. Wanting to support students through these challenges, I returned to tutoring to help reduce stress and provide the structure and guidance students needed to succeed. I have been tutoring consistently since 2021, with over a decade of experience overall.

When working with students, I balance professionalism with approachability, creating an environment where effort is encouraged and questions are always welcome. I focus not only on academic skill-building, but also on confidence, perspective, and long-term growth. My goal is for students to feel supported both academically and personally, and to build positive, collaborative relationships centered on shared goals. I strive for every session to end with meaningful progress and a sense of accomplishment, so students leave feeling more confident and prepared than when they arrived.
