Connor Varley

I was born and raised in New Jersey and have always had a passion for math. In late 2014, I moved to DC to study Mechanical Engineering at George Washington University. I quickly fell in love with the city and, after my freshman year, began tutoring other students in calculus and physics.

Following my time at GW, I worked as the Director of Operations for a startup and Analyst for a privately held holding company. I embraced the opportunity to challenge myself and develop new skills. This path continued when I transitioned to a small consulting firm specializing in raising Seed and Series A funds for new ventures.

As a tutor, I strive to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. This approach is essential for building confidence and understanding why a student might be struggling with a concept. I keep my students engaged through frequent questioning and aim to inspire the same passion for learning and self-improvement that has guided me throughout my education.
