Meet Lillie Moore: SAT, ACT, & Academic Tutor.
My love for teaching began in high school, where I tutored through my school’s National Honor Society and volunteered as a docent at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, developing a passion for making new concepts accessible to others. Since graduating summa cum laude from Virginia Tech in 2022, I have worked as an SAT/ACT and academic tutor, helping dozens of students build confidence and prepare for these critical exams. In addition to tutoring, I have worked extensively in education-focused roles, including as the Education and Volunteer Coordinator at the Los Altos History Museum. My work has centered on fostering meaningful connections—whether with students, museum visitors, or local organizations.
As a tutor, I focus on building strong relationships and tailoring lessons to each student’s strengths and learning style. I know that oftentimes, our students have an overwhelming amount of schoolwork and extracurricular commitments. Through my tutoring, I help my students stay organized and develop the executive functioning skills they need to be successful. Having moved frequently growing up, I learned to adapt quickly to different school systems and curricula, which helped me develop a variety of learning strategies. This experience, combined with my tutoring background, allows me to create engaging, student-centered lessons that empower learners to take ownership of their education.
