Meet Bryan Durazo: Senior SAT & ACT Tutor.
I joined Top Score Education as a full time test prep tutor in 2013 and ever since have taught 6 days a week, logging thousands of hours tutoring ACT & SAT to athletes and mathletes, the motivated and the meandering, and both neurotypical and neurodiverse students. Our work fuses my passion for teaching with the skills I learned as a Virginia state swim champion in high school and a student-athlete at Duke University to help drive students to their maximum potential. I started coaching children in swimming when I was 16, formally tutoring my brother when I was 17, and never looked back. A tutor, just like a coach, must provide structure, clear expectations, and support.
All of our students juggle demanding schedules, and I intimately understand the balance of academics and extracurriculars. My instruction emphasizes planning, prioritization, and time management, without which even the best curriculum will fall short. As the student finds their routine, focus will follow, and progress close behind. My students see that I am invested in them and their success, and they respond in kind. That energy keeps me young and my job joyful.
