Meet Angela Maleski: Middle & High School Math Tutor.

As a former high school math teacher, I have much to offer through tutoring. I have a double Bachelor’s in Physics and Astronomy from Smith College and a Master’s in Space Science from the University of Michigan. In addition, I was a math teacher at Emma Willard, a girls’ boarding school, for 14 years, so I have seen many different learning styles from around the country and the world! I also have experience working with students who have ADHD, dyscalculia, and other learning differences.

My goal is to help students set and achieve their mathematics goals. In addition to supporting a student’s given curriculum and class materials, my proficiency extends to designing content and lesson syllabi covering topics from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I also help students learn about a growth mindset—the idea that our abilities, capabilities, and intelligence is not set in stone, but can be developed and expanded over time—and how it will help them work up to their potential. Students and their questions stand at the center of my lessons, and I have multiple ways of explaining almost any concept. I love to share my excitement in math, enthusiasm about science, and passion for problem-solving with the students I work with!
