I’m a recent 2025 college graduate taking a gap year before starting medical school. For the past two years, I worked as a teaching assistant in Georgetown University’s Biology Department, leading group review sessions and meeting one-on-one with students in college-level Foundations of Biology. I discovered how much I enjoy breaking down tricky concepts, watching that “aha” moment click, and helping students feel proud of what they’ve learned.

When I tutor, my goal is to make the material understandable, memorable, and even enjoyable. I adapt my approach to each student’s learning style, use guiding questions, and connect topics to bigger ideas so the concepts truly stick. I create an environment where students feel comfortable asking any question, big or small, and encourage them to take risks in their thinking without worrying about being wrong. Rather than focusing on memorization, I emphasize understanding the “why” behind the material. My aim is to help students build both confidence and curiosity—skills that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.
