Meet Ella Spalding: SAT, ACT, & STEM Tutor.
As someone who has never shied away from an academic challenge, I was first drawn to tutoring because I wanted to impart my love of learning to my students. I began tutoring in high school through NHS, worked as a tutor all through college, and pursued it post-graduation because of the fulfillment it brings me. Explaining challenging concepts is fun, but when that is combined with using analogies or explanations explicitly tailored to the student, it’s a gratifying feeling.
I believe in meeting my students where they are and building their knowledge base and confidence so they not only do well on their tests but also feel good about it. I’m a very kind and encouraging tutor passionate about helping her students see the “big picture” when learning. However, I don’t believe that tutoring starts and stops with the textbook—I work to develop trust and rapport with all of my students. I use my relationship with the student to create an individualized approach to their learning and strive to help them achieve their potential.
