Meet Jamison Talley: STEM Tutor.
I’m a software engineer from Washington state with a desire to learn that’s never stopped. That curiosity led me to get undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Montana and work on the cutting edge of astronomy research and the technology industry. In my work as a software engineer, I use the concepts that I teach to my students to solve problems every day. Math and science are the tools we use to better understand the world around us, and sharing those tools with students is something I value greatly.
I base my tutoring around long-term mastery of fundamental STEM concepts. My goal as a tutor is not just to teach, but to help students figure out how to solve problems on their own. I also take great care to cultivate a supportive learning environment where students can develop confidence alongside competence. The subjects I tutor can be very challenging and can require students to work hard, and I believe that approaching every lesson with a positive attitude is critical to helping them do their best work.
