Meet Jetta McPhee: SAT, ACT, & Math Tutor.
I was born and raised in Connecticut, and I have a degree in Psychological Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I am now an MA student in the MEITE program at UNC-Chapel Hill. My research focuses on using virtual reality and 360° videos to improve K-12 math instruction! I’ve been working with students since high school, and I love to help math make sense to everyone, regardless of their background.
I use various methods when I teach, but I always emphasize the “why” behind how we solve problems. It’s not enough to know formulas or patterns to make life-long connections to content. I pride myself on developing strong relationships with my students- I always want to hear about their lives and passions outside the classroom!
