Meet Kellen White: STEM Tutor.
I am a veteran math teacher with a background in scientific research. I have been teaching Middle and High School Math since 2020, and college-level Physics since 2016. I love helping students find themselves in STEM and see themselves as mathematicians, scientists, and engineers. I want to work to build their confidence and develop the skills for future success.
Because of my experience across the educational spectrum I try to both help students where they are and build the foundations for upcoming topics. Relationships are key in education, so I try to build a fun and encouraging environment where students are encouraged to take risks and make mistakes without fear of judgment. That way, I can reduce my student’s anxiety around math and science, and pinpoint the specific concepts that are acting as a bottleneck for their learning.

M.S. - Georgetown University & M.S. - Johns Hopkins University
M.S. – Georgetown University: Degree in Physics, During my time at Georgetown I completed my MS in Physics and used computational models to study soft materials. I also was a teaching assistant for Physics 101 & 102, and led small group studies for students in the class. During this time I also worked as an Adjunct Professor of Astronomy for American University.
M.S. – Johns Hopkins University: Degree in Education, During that time I was mentored by a 20-year veteran teacher and worked high school students in the District of Columbia, preparing them for college. My first set of high school seniors are now college graduates, and I could not be more proud of them.
