Meet Leslie Huber: K-8 Literacy Tutor.
I’ve always loved working with children, and my passion for teaching began early. Growing up in a large family, it felt natural to help and teach my younger siblings. I quickly discovered how energizing and fulfilling that role was for me. Over time, teaching became more than an interest—it became the work that excites and motivates me most. I’m deeply drawn to helping students build confidence, develop skills, and discover their own strengths as learners. I’m excited to share that I have now been teaching for over twenty years!
I believe learning is most effective when it is active and engaging. I intentionally incorporate movement, games, and hands-on activities into my Orton-Gillingham–informed lessons to help students stay focused, improve retention, and deepen understanding. By making learning interactive and multisensory, students are better able to connect with the material, build confidence, and enjoy the learning process. My goal is for each student to leave our sessions feeling supported, capable, and motivated to continue learning.
