Meet Loza Taye: SAT, ACT, & STEM Tutor.

I grew up in Maryland, moving between the U.S. and the U.K., and experienced both school systems through graduate school. Nearly a decade in academia showed me how education builds confidence and creates opportunity. I now work at Johns Hopkins as a research faculty member, mentoring students in developing research skills. Their questions and problem-solving ability push me to constantly improve as an educator and researcher.

My tutoring style is student-centered and structured. I start by learning each student’s motivations, strengths, challenges, and learning style to tailor lessons and keep them engaged. A strong teacher shapes how a student feels about a subject, so I want students to feel supported, capable, and comfortable asking questions. My goal is to not only strengthen their academic performance, but to help them build effective study habits and the confidence to take on new challenges independently.
