Nick Farrington

I’ve been teaching professionally for seven years in a variety of environments ranging from classroom teaching to individual private tutoring. I studied Pure Mathematics at University of Virginia, graduating with distinction, but I have a wide range of academic interests and am always on the lookout for new museums.

My experience includes guiding AP students to a 100% exam pass rate (with 65% earning a 5), supporting students in their SAT test prep, and teaching a wide range of subjects through both school settings and after-school programs. Over the years, I’ve worked with learners of all ages, including middle schoolers who are building their academic foundations all the way up to undergraduates mastering advanced math and science.

As a teacher, I pride myself on setting high standards and patiently fostering independent thinking in my students. Many high school students find that large classroom environments stifle their initiative. In my lessons, I provide a counterbalance. Students learn in an environment that rewards responsibility and promptly challenges weak points in their understanding. The skills my students develop are invaluable at university, in professional environments, and as students develop their own academic passions.
