Meet Owen Nottman: High School Math & Science Tutor.
A computer science and economics graduate from Washington University in St. Louis, I have been dedicated to tutoring since I worked with my first student in 2014. Driven by my passion for empowering students with the tools and skills to excel beyond the current status quo, I believe in fostering a deep understanding of subjects, enabling students to approach problems confidently and creatively.
As a tutor, my primary goal is to guide students toward independent discovery. I achieve this by asking targeted questions that lead them to uncover answers independently. This method helps students grasp concepts more thoroughly and teaches them to ask well-formed questions to get the explanations they seek with precision and confidence. My approach is rooted in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop a genuine curiosity for the subject matter. My ultimate goal is to equip students with the critical thinking skills and confidence necessary for academic success and beyond.
