Meet Phillip Smith: Director of Training & Development | Senior SAT & ACT Tutor.
A deeply held conviction of mine is that every student is smart and capable of tremendous growth with the proper support. I am a National Board Certified Teacher of English and Social Studies with eight years of classroom experience, and I have tutored SAT/ACT and high school math and humanities since 2020.
My style is highly personalized and adaptable to what a student already knows and how they best learn. I find the right balance of challenge and support for each student to keep them in the learning zone. By bridging my knowledge of the student with content expertise, I ensure students are constantly progressing, whether aiming for a perfect score or overcoming specific challenges in their academic journey.
In addition to my work as a tutor with Top Score, I serve as our Director of Training and Development. In this role, I train our new SAT/ACT tutors on our curriculum and methodology and provide ongoing coaching and support to tutors across our organization.
