Meet Shreya Surabhi: STEM Tutor.
I’ve always been fascinated by the brain and the way science helps explain how the body works, which led me to study Clinical Neuroscience at Virginia Tech. I’ve also been tutoring science since high school, and I’ve always enjoyed helping students turn difficult concepts into something that feels much more manageable.
As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable. I know that the same explanation does not work for every student, so I try to identify how each student learns best and break difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable pieces. I like to use examples, diagrams, practice problems, and connections to real-life situations rather than relying solely on memorization. I also encourage students to ask questions freely and talk through their reasoning so I can identify exactly where confusion begins. Ultimately, I want my students to leave our sessions feeling more confident, supported, and equipped with study and problem-solving strategies they can continue using independently.
