Meet Ephrem Rae: SAT, ACT, & STEM Tutor.

I’m a DMV native and public health professional committed to teaching and life-long learning. I discovered this passion while tutoring STEM courses, the PSAT, and the SAT in my immigrant community as a High School student at St. Albans School and later as an Undergraduate student at Yale University.

These early experiences laid a foundation for my tutoring skillset in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and more, which I’ve honed while earning my MA at Loyola University Chicago and as an Assistant Teacher at i2 STEM Camp. Sharing knowledge and empowering students to find their confidence with challenging topics is central to my goals as a tutor and deeply fulfilling.

With that in mind, I begin by learning about students’ diverse interests, priorities, and academic backgrounds that shape their learning identities and styles. I can create a collaborative and encouraging environment tailored to each student to spark curiosity, utilize tools and skills to better apply and grow their skills, and ultimately reach their goals. Meeting my students where they are and building a strong relationship is critical to unlocking any student’s achievement.
